Nitro Hax

By Chishm Modified to work on Nintendo 3DS by Apache Thunder, Ahezard, and Shutterbug2000.

Nitro Hax is a cheat tool for the Nintendo DS. It works with original games only. This is not intended to boot flashcarts. Use NTR Launcher for that. This does NOT boot 3DS carts. This program is not related to NTR CFW. This is designed for DS games only. This program does not yet support TWL carts. (DSi Enhanced games). Even if you manage to boot a TWL cart, it will be running in NTR mode and will not have access to DSi specific hardware. DSi Enhanced Games will be supported if and when card reading code is updated to accommodate them.

  1. Install NitroHax.cia with your preferred CIA installer.
  2. Place an Action Replay XML file (cheats.xml) to a location on your 3DS SD card.
  3. Insert the game you intend to use NitroHax with.
  4. Start NitroHax from 3DS Home Menu. If you did not insert a game yet, the program will prompt you to insert one.
  5. One of the following will be loaded automatically if it is found (in order of preference): * "cheats.xml" in the current directory * "/NitroHax/cheats.xml" * "/data/NitroHax/cheats.xml" * "/cheats.xml"
  6. If no file is found, browse for and select a file to open.
  7. Choose the cheats you want to enable.
  8. Some cheats are enabled by default and others may be always on. This is specified in the XML file.
  9. The keys are: * A: Open a folder or toggle a cheat enabled * B: Go up a folder or exit the cheat menu if at the top level * X: Enable all cheats in current folder * Y: Disable all cheats in current folder * L: Move up half a screen * R: Move down half a screen * Up: Move up one line * Down: Move down one line * Start: Start the game * Select: Enable DSi clock speeds. (currently no visible GUI button for this yet)
  10. If you wish to enable TWL clock speeds for your game press select button. This option added to help improve performance of some games.
  11. Do NOT eject the game cartridge once cheats have been loaded. If you change your mind, you will need to restart Nitrohax.
  12. When you're done, exit the cheat menu by pressing the start button.
  13. The game will then start with cheats running. 10.The DS/DSi bootsplash played prior to starting the game will indicate what CPU speed was selected for your game.

[Database] CTRPF AR CHEAT CODES

Notice

I hate to do this, but between this repository, me dealing with sharkive stuff, work*, and just about a ton of other things IRL I am sadly thinking I am going to have to drop this repository (put it into archive mode basically) as I barely have time to do much work anymore on really anything. *main reason is I have a very hectic schedule right now and for the foreseeable future so it makes things a lot harder. I will still be around for flagbrew/sharkive (and the eventual merge of getting sharkive implemented into checkpoint) so I'm not going to be completely gone, but I just won't be working on this repository anymore. @iSharingan has forked this repository and will be taking over for all future things! Please follow their fork for any new codes and please report any broken codes/issues over there! Thank you <3 You can follow the fork here https://github.com/iSharingan/CTRPF-AR-CHEAT-CODES Also If you have gateshark codes please help contribute to Sharkive

Sharkive

Gateshark cheat code database for Luma3DS 9.1+ and Atmosphere 0.8.5+.

Database

Sharkive relies on a manually populated database to download and apply new cheats. Most of them are not yet confirmed to work.

We need your help: report all the cheats that aren't working as an issue in this repository. We will update them or remove them to avoid further issues with other users. Additionally, if you have cheats that aren't available in Sharkive yet, please create a Pull Request.

FAQ

Q: How do I install cheats on my console? Does Sharkive have an app?
A: Sharkive's cheat codes are bundled in Checkpoint 3DS, which is a popular save manager for the 3DS and the Switch consoles. Download Checkpoint to manage Sharkive cheat codes.

Q: Help! This cheat doesn't work.
Q: Why does the name turn red when I try to use this cheat?
A: There can be a few causes for cheats not working:

  1. Make sure you're using the latest version of your system's preferred custom firmware (CFW)
  2. Cheats are all made for a particular version (game update) and/or revision of a game and will likely not work on others. Make sure the cheat(s) you are trying to use are for the version and/or revision you are playing.
  3. If after trying the above you still can't get the cheat(s) to work, please report them so we can either relabel them for their proper version/revision or remove them.

Q: Can you add cheats for this game?
A: Nobody currently on the FlagBrew team makes cheats. Everything in Sharkive's database comes from user submissions. If you have some working cheats for your game and want them included in Sharkive, submit a pull request and someone will get around to adding them.

3DS

Q: How do I use these cheats?
A: First off, you need CFW (Luma3DS) installed. Then load up your game, open the Rosalina menu (press ), choose ""Cheats"", then press on each of the cheats you want to use to activate them.

Q: Does this work for DS games?
A: No. Luma's Rosalina cannot interact with DS games so its cheat engine is unavailable to them. You can try looking into NitroHax for DS cheats.

Q: Some cheats have a star () next to their name in Rosalina. Why?
A: This means that the cheat makes use of a key combo. If the cheat name doesn't mention the key combo you'll have to look up the code and translate the line(s) starting to figure out what the key combo is.

Q: Some cheat names are cut off in the list. Can you make the full name display? Can I read the full name somewhere?
A: Cheat names getting cut off is due to Luma, not Sharkive. Check the wiki page for titles in the database to find easy links to the cheat files you want to see.

Q: How do I update Checkpoint's cheat database?
A: Do the following

  1. Make sure you have Python 3 installed
  2. Get a copy of the Sharkive repo
  3. Open a command prompt/terminal to your copy of the repo
  4. Run the command for your OS:
    • Windows:
    • Mac / Linux:
  5. Rename to and place on your SD card in the folder

Switch

Q: How do cheats work with Atmosphère with Checkpoint?
A: Differently from other cheat engines/methodologies, Checkpoint only stores the cheats you selected to your console memory. That means that the toggle engine system inside of Atmosphère is useless when using Checkpoint, and must be disabled.

Q: How do I update Checkpoint's cheat database?
A: Do the following

  1. Make sure you have Python 3 installed
  2. Get a copy of the Sharkive repo
  3. Open a command prompt/terminal to your copy of the repo
  4. Run the command for your OS:
    • Windows:
    • Mac / Linux:
  5. Rename to and place on your SD card in the folder

Usage 1: Run Sharkive. 2: You can download cheats for your games. (It's possible that some cheats don't work or crash while you try to use them). 3: Run your desired game. 4: Open Luma3DS's Rosalina menu. 5: Go to the Cheats section located on the top. Apply your cheats and return back to the game. You'll now be able to use your cheat. Database Sharkive relies on a manually populated database to download and apply new cheats. Most of them are not yet confirmed to work.

We need your help: report all the cheats that aren't working as an issue in this repository. We will update them or remove them to avoid further issues with other users. Additionally, if you have cheats that aren't available in Sharkive yet, please create a Pull Request.

Todo Sharkive still relies on pp2d to render its graphics. I don't have enough time to take care of a Sharkive's citro2d port, so pull requests are highly appreciated.

Also, as you may notice, Sharkive is almost totally based on the legacy Checkpoint codebase (this software was originally written at very the beginning of 2018). That said, most of Checkpoint's optimizations are not yet included in Sharkive, so there will be updates in the future to make it run better. No promises though, as this project isn't very high priority for me.

Required Reading

If you have hacked your 3DS in the past, or you purchased your 3DS second-hand, it is possible that your console already has custom firmware. You should check for CFW before proceeding.

Select the appropriate page for your version from the chart below. Note that the “from” and “to” fields are inclusive.

Your device version can be found at the bottom right of the top screen of the System Settings.

Before starting, you may want to check your SD card for errors using H2testw (Windows), F3 (Linux), or F3XSwift (Mac)!

While we believe that custom firmware is safe for online use, there have been online network bans in the past, primarily for cheating and suspicious eShop behavior.

Version Table

The letter and number after the system version (for example, 11.15.0-47U) is not relevant in this version table.

A number of methods that work on all versions are available, but require additional hardware. If possible, you should follow one of the software methods listed above instead.

  1. ntrboot - requires compatible DS flashcart
  2. Installing boot9strap (Hardmod) - requires soldering

Checkpoint Cheat Guide

Here's a short guide on how to use Checkpoint cheats. Credits to @Krieg#1473 for images and base text.

Sharkive used to be used for cheats. As of the time of writing, Checkpoint can now be used for cheats too, and Sharkive has been deprecated, so Checkpoint should be used. If you want to use NTR Plugins for cheats, you should check out this guide written by yours truly.

Required:
Luma 9.1 or above
The latest release of Checkpoint, which can be found here if you need it.

Please read the troubleshooting at the bottom of the page if you run into any issues before asking questions.

Obtaining Cheats

  1. Open Checkpoint. The icon is the black flag on your homescreen.
  2. Select the game you want to cheat on
  3. Press "Cheats" under Backup and Restore

  4. When you see the list of cheats, press Y to save all of them, then press B

  5. When prompted to store the cheat save file, press A

  6. You have acquired some cheats, now let's use them in game!

Using them in game

  1. Load up your game of choice
  2. Open the Rosalina Menu by pressing Left Shoulder + down on the dpad + SELECT
  3. Hover under the "Cheats..." menu and press A

  4. Select the cheats you want.

  5. Press B until you're back in the game.
  6. The cheats should be active.
  7. You're done!

Troubleshooting

Q: Checkpoint says "No available cheat codes for this title!"
A: You'll need to add them manually. Consider this guide.

Q: My cheats don't work/crash!
A: Checkpoint's cheat database is community run, and some cheats may not function correctly. There's not much you can do about it.

Q: My game isn't showing up!
A: Make sure you have a save for the game. If you're sure you do, hold B to refresh title list and the game should appear.

Q: The cheats button does not show up!
A: Your version of Checkpoint is outdated. Grab the latest release here.

Q: How do I cheat on DS Games?
A: To use cheats on DS games, install them via Universal Updater.
