1. Altair AA102 Remote Control Boat

Check Latest Price
First on our list is the Altair AA102 remote control boat. It is a little pricey, but for a good reason. Altair makes a variety of remote control vehicles, so the AA102 remote control boat is a great remote control boat to have.
Its top speed is 30/kmh or 19mph, and it has a 390 brushed motor. The hull is designed not to capsize so that it can be used in pools, lakes, and creeks. When the boat flips over, turn the wheel of the remote control to flip it back over. This makes taking hard turns fun because you know the boat can get turned back upright quickly.
If the boat gets too far away, there is an out-of-range alarm that sounds to let you know the boat is getting too far away to respond to the remote control. There is also a low battery alarm letting you know to charge the batteries. The two lithium-ion batteries are included, charged, and ready to go right out of the box.
The frequency of the remote controls your boat only. This means you can race with other boats, even boats that are the same model as the Altair AA102. The total drive time of the batteries is 20 minutes, with each battery providing 10 minutes of drive time.
Pros:
- Easy to use
- Batteries included and rechargeable
- Anti-capsize design
- No interference with other RC vehicles
Cons:
- Pricey
- Reverse difficult to use
2. DEERC H120 Remote Control Boat

Check Latest Price
The DEERC H120 remote control boat has a 4-channel 2.4 GHz remote with a range of 150 meters or nearly 500 feet. The two batteries will power the motor and accelerate it to 20mph. The two lithium-ion batteries can be recharged with the included USB charger. The fully charged batteries give you 16 minutes of drive time (8 minutes each for each battery).
The design of the boat has an anti-capsizing hull with capsize recovery. This means if your boat capsizes, you can easily flip it back over with the remote. There is also a motor cooling system so that the motor does not become overheated as it runs. The motor will not run until it senses contact with water. This means you can’t accidentally turn the motor on and overheat it or damage it on a dry or hard surface.
When the batteries are low, there is a low battery alarm that sounds and indicates that the batteries should be charged. The charging time for the batteries is just two hours.
Pros:
- Great design
- Safe operation; only works in water and motor cooling system
- Easy to use
- Capsize recovery
- Fast
Cons:
3. Pro Boat BlackJack Catamaran Remote Control Boat

Check Latest Price
The Pro Boat Blackjack Catamaran remote control boat is made for those who want a remote control boat to replicate the catamaran racing boats that are frequently shown on TV. Its design, stability, and high speed make it a great option to replicate those racing boats that you see on TV.
It can reach speeds of 30mph, making it one of the fastest remote control boats on the market today. To keep it balanced and stable, there is an offset rudder system at the stern of the boat, so you don’t have to worry about the boat coming out of the water.
The electronics are all waterproof, so you can rest assured that the electronics on the boat are safe and protected. There is also a built-in drain plug to drain any water that gets into the boat as it is being used.
The only downside to this boat is that it will need two lithium-ion or NIMH batteries along with a battery charger and 4 AA batteries. These are not included with the boat.
Pros:
- Design replicates catamaran racing boats
- High speeds
- Rudder system keeps the boat stable and balanced
Cons:
4. MOSTOP HJ806 Remote Control Boat

Check Latest Price
Although it’s a little pricier than other models, the MOSTOP HJ806 remote control boat has features and functions that make it worth it.
The motor of this remote control boat is more rugged and tough than the rest. The high-speed motor is magnetic and twice as strong as the motors that are typically used in remote control boats. This means the boat can power over waves, wake, and strong currents easily without resistance.
The features of the MOSTOP HJ806 include reverse sailing, ship resetting, and an automatic shut off when the ship leaves the water. All of these features help the remote control boat function to its maximum and safest potential.
The radiofrequency allows for multiple players to use their boats without fear of interfering with one another.
The hull of the ship has a double waterproof enclosure to ensure that water doesn’t get into the motor or the hull to damage or sink the boat. The hull is also made of tough material that is resistant to cracks after colliding with an object or another boat. There is a water circulation cooling system that will extend the life of the motor so that it doesn’t overheat as it is being used.
A low battery alarm lets you know when the boat needs to be recharged. This keeps you from stranding your boat in the middle of the water if the battery dies; you know exactly when to bring it back to recharge. There is also a weak signal alarm that beeps when you are getting out of range. Just like the low battery alarm, this tells you to bring the boat closer to you so that the boat doesn’t get so far away that it can’t respond to the frequency signals.
Pros:
- Functional design made out of quality materials
- Alarms for low battery and low signal
- Capsize recovery
- Strong motor
Cons:
5. FT016 Submarine Racing Speedboat (18.9”)

Check Latest Price
The FT016 remote control boat is 18.9” long, but there are two additional models you can choose from if you prefer a bigger size. There is a 25.5” and 31.5” speedboat you can choose if you want something bigger. Just be aware that the price jumps pretty substantially when selecting a bigger size.
For the 18.9”, it is affordable, fast, and durable. The maximum speed tops out at around 20mph, and the motor is protected by an air circulation cooling system so that the motor doesn’t overheat as it is used.
The hull is made of ABS thermoplastic and gold powder so that it can withstand impacts on the water. You don’t have to worry about the hull of the boat getting damaged after just once impact. This also ensures that the boat won’t chip off during those impacts as well.
There is a flip-correction mechanism that will turn the boat back over on top of the water in case it becomes capsized. You can easily correct the boat using the remote instead of having to enter the water to fix it.
There is one pre-charged lithium-ion battery and a battery charger included with the boat so you can unbox and go.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Fast
- Hull should not crack or scratch
- Flip-correction mechanism to turn boat upright again
Cons:
- Only one battery instead of two
6. Udirc Venom High-Speed Remote Control Boat

Check Latest Price
Another affordable remote control boat on our list is the Venom high-speed remote control boat by Udirc.
Although it is affordable, it only has a top speed of 15mph, making it one of the slowest on our list.
The hull is made of ABS thermoplastic, and it is anti-tilt, water-cooled, and features a single propeller 370-size motor. The hull also has a self-righting feature that will correct the boat when it capsizes so that you can continue playing.
The boat includes one lithium-ion battery and a charger. There is a low battery alarm that lets you know when you need to charge the boat.
It is important to know that when you charge the boat, you need to make sure the boat is completely dry. Water can get into the battery area and cause the battery to malfunction if it tries to charge while wet.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Easy to use
- Self-righting feature to correct the boat if capsized
- Low battery alarm
- Lithium-ion battery and charger included
Cons:
- Only one battery shortens the playing time and lessens the overall speed of the boat
7. Traxxas M41 Catamaran Remote Control Boat

Check Latest Price
This catamaran remote control boat by Traxxas has quickly become a fan favorite. If you want your remote control boat to go fast, it doesn’t get much faster than this one.
This boat is large. Very large, in fact, at 40” long, and it weighs 5 pounds. It is the largest and heaviest on our list, but for a good reason.
The Traxxas catamaran remote control boat can go over 50mph when using a 65 lithium-ion battery. Unfortunately, the 65 lithium-ion battery is not included, so you will have to purchase this separately if you want the boat to hit those kinds of speeds.

You will need two AA batteries for the controller.
Pros:
- Easy to use
- Lithium-ion battery and charger included
- Self-righting feature
- Quality design
Cons:
- Requires two AA batteries for the controller
Choosing the Best Remote Control Boat
Sure, you can search for a remote control boat and buy the first one that comes up and will likely have an RC boat that works, but it will likely be a risk that you shouldn’t have to take. Not all remote control boats are the same, especially if you will be using your remote control boat in a body of water that has a current.
The last thing you want to happen when you place your RC boat in the water is to have it drift away because the boat you chose doesn’t have a motor equipped to push through currents or moving water.
To help you throughout the buying process, we have assembled a list of conditions to consider so that you can choose the remote control boat that has the right features and equipment that you need.
Location
Before anything else, you need to know where you will be using your boat. This is why we have put it first on our list. This will set the stage for the type of boats you need to look for and the type of boats you need to steer clear of.
If the water in which you will be placing the boat will have a current or wake, like a creek, river, or ocean, you will need to choose an RC boat with a strong motor. If the water is calm, like a pool or a pond or small lake, you can choose a remote control boat with a lighter motor.
It’s important to understand that a remote control boat in a pool, pond, or small lake can still have a strong motor. Just because you are using the boat in a calm body of water doesn’t mean you can’t have an RC boat with a strong motor.
It is just important to know that your boat will only be successful in water with strong currents or waves if it has a strong motor that will power through that kind of resistance.
Hull Shape
Remote control boats come in all different shapes to replicate real, full-size boats. There are catamaran, v-hull, deep v-hull, and pontoon hulls. The hull shape you choose will contribute to how easily the boat will be to capsize and how easily the boat will be to recover (turn upright) if capsized.
Many remote control boats come with an anti-capsizing feature that allows the boat to be quickly and easily recovered if capsized. This is an important feature to look for when choosing an RC boat because you don’t want to have to rescue your boat from the middle of the water if it can’t flip back over. Additionally, if the boat is flipped over for too long and the deck of the boat is not properly sealed, water may enter the boat and damage the components inside.
Battery Type and Life
Remote control boats will have a power source that typically comes from a battery. Before settling for a remote control boat, take a look at the battery it requires and the life of the battery.
The type of battery that the remote control boat uses can determine the speed and total playing time of the boat. For example, two lithium-ion batteries will double your speed and run time of the boat, whereas one lithium-ion battery will give you a slower boat with shorter playtime.
Some remote control boats can support upgraded batteries that make them go faster and play longer. If you are interested in making upgrades to your boat, see if the remote control boat can support upgraded batteries or additional battery packs.
Remote Control
Most remote controls come with a frequency that only the RC boat can recognize and respond to. This means multiple boats can race without worrying about interference with one another on the water.
Make sure the remote control of the boat has authenticated that multiple boats can be used in conjunction with one another without interfering.
The remote control should also be easy to use and have an alarm that sounds when the battery is low, or the boat is out of range. This will keep you from having to enter the water to retrieve a boat that has become a sitting duck in the water.
The remote control should also have an anti-capsizing feature on the boat for you to quickly and easily rescue the boat straight from the remote with a simple action on the controller. The boat should be able to turn right-side-up if becoming capsized.
Motor
Many remote control boats come with a feature that will cause the motor of the boat to shut off if it is not in contact with water. This prevents the motor from overheating or burning itself out, trying to propel the boat on a surface that it shouldn’t.
The motor of the boat should also have a cooling system that will keep the motor cool as it is run for long periods of time. The motor should be sealed off from water or waterproof so that it doesn’t become damaged when it comes in contact with water.
If the motor of the boat does not indicate that it has protection from water or an automatic shut off when it comes in contact with land or a hard surface, you will likely damage the motor and will need to purchase a new one to replace inside your RC boat. Unless you have an RC boat with an awesome hull that you want to continue using, you would probably have to replace the RC boat altogether, which can be costly.
Accessories
We have placed accessories at the bottom of the list because they shouldn’t be considered a requirement in choosing a boat, but we understand that they can influence the overall decision in which remote control boat to buy; especially if it is neck and neck between two options.
Remote control boats that have additional accessories may include upgraded battery packs, smartphone application, or additional propellers. These accessories can help take your boat from ordinary to extraordinary and should only be considered if the RC boat has met the other requirements you need for the water in which it will be used.
For example, a smartphone application won’t do you any good if the boat you have chosen is not equipped to power through strong currents or waves. This is why the body of water where the boat will be located is so important.
Conclusion
Remote control boats don’t have to break the bank. There are many affordable options for you to unbox and go. Just make sure the remote control boat you choose can work in the type of water you will be putting it in.

What to Expect from Smaller RC Boats
Smaller RC boats are no different from their larger counterparts in that you get what you pay for. You also need to know what you want from the model. There’s no need to spend more than a few dollars if it’s a simple toy for a toddler. However, consider a few failsafe features if you expect to use it on ponds, rivers, and lakes. The purpose of this guide is to help you make the best decision in any case.
Here are some typical characteristics to look out for on RC boats:
- Size of the boat (always check the product dimension)
- Type of RC craft, e.g., speedboat, ship, fishing, yacht, etc.
- Remote control functions
- Control range (distance)
- Battery life or playing time
- Charging time
- Anti-flip hull
- Capsize recovery mode
- Out of range and low battery alarms
A simple list like this ensures you choose the right model. Not everything will apply to all people. Feel free to modify the above points so that it’s closer to your specific needs and wants.
Realistic Expectations
One of the most common shopping blunders with any RC model is to overlook its size. Product images can easily draw shoppers in, but they don’t represent the true measurements. We know this from the feedback users leave in review sections. They’re surprised at how big or small a product is because they overlooked scale sizes or dimensions. I add the dimensions for each boat in the reviews.
There’s isn’t a maximum size for a small boat because they’re comparisons. For example, a 1/12 scale model of a rowing boat is sure to be much smaller than a 1/12 scale model of a cruise ship. There are no ‘size’ surprises in these reviews providing you check the quick specs table.
Consider the RC boat’s construction. Parents of small children are sure to want a product that uses non-toxic plastics. Check for crash-resistant properties too. Control range shouldn’t be that vital for smaller RC boats. After all, there’s no fun if it goes out of the line of sight (LOS). The playing time (battery life) is something to ponder, as are charging times and the cost of spare batteries.
The Importance of Failsafe Features
Even some of the cheaper RC boats come with failsafe features that can prove invaluable. An anti-tilt hull reduces the risk of capsizing. And capsize recovery modes flip boats back upright if they do overturn. That means no lost boats or wading/swimming out to rescue an upturned model. Out of range warnings and low-battery alarms prevent vessels becoming stranded on larger bodies of water.
About My ‘Small RC Boats’ Guide
There are 7 reviews on this page for small RC boats. I selected these products after revising dozens of models. I also took the opinions of industry experts into consideration along with real user feedback. The final picks cover all types of mini RC boats and price ranges. I’ve highlighted the above features and specs with models that have them. Likewise, I also point out areas where a product may fall short.
The top three reviews show the Best Budget, Best Value, and the Top Pick. The ones under those are by price for convenience, lowest to high. The table below shows the order of these favorite models.
Small RC Boats Comparison Table
1. Geburun Electric High-Speed RC Boat | Best Budget
View on Amazon
Editor’s Rating: 4.7/5
The Best Budget pick goes to the Geburun Electric High-Speed RC Boat. It’s one of the larger small models here and best suited for outdoor use. It’s fast too and crash-resistant.
- Best feature 1: Impact-resistant ABS material
- Best feature 2: Easy, USB charging
- Plus points: Safety prop, fast top speed, large torque double propellers, decent range
- Minus points: Slow charging, average playing time
The Geburun RC racing boat uses harmless, high-quality impact-resistant ABS in its build. Another safety feature is that the motor and paddle won’t work until they contact water. This is a powerful toy model for its price category with dual motors and high-torque props. Users can expect speeds of up to 12 mph (20 km/h) in calm weather. The control range is a decent 164 ft. (50 M).
Charging the battery is easy thanks to the boat’s USB port. That sounds logical, but USB charging is not something all RC models offer, so it’s a welcome feature. Charging time is less impressive.
The Not So Good
Battery charging takes up to 3 hours for 15 minutes of playing time. That means extra batteries are essential for anyone who wants uninterrupted fun on the water.

2. USA Toyz Udi001 Venom Small RC Boat | Best Value
View on Amazon
Editor’s Rating: 4.6/5
Best Value small RC boat goes to the popular FORCE1 Power Venom Udi001. Its sleek design and anti-tilt waterproof ABS hull slices through the water with speed and ease.
- Best feature 1: Anti-tilt ABS hull
- Best feature 2: Capsize recovery mode
- Plus points: Easy to steer, sturdy build, fast, bonus battery, low battery alarm, emergency stop
- Minus points: No out of range alarm, average running time
Self-righting boats flip far less than models without anti-tilt hulls, but they can still overturn. It’s why a capsize recovery mode is so vital for those who play on big ponds, lakes, and rivers. This boat has it, so hobbyists can race with confidence. The Udi001 Venom is easy to steer and sports a sturdy built to protect it against knocks and collisions. It’s fast too, reaching speeds up to 15 mph (24 km/h).
Safety features include a low battery alarm and an emergency stop function. Its low-battery warning gives out an audible beep as soon as it reaches its final minute of power. That’s ample time to return the boat. The bonus battery (2 total) effectively doubles the playing time. Always allow a few minutes for the motor to cool down between battery swaps.
The Not So Good
There isn’t an out-of-range warning alarm with the Udi001 Venom. Users must remember to stay within range to prevent the boat disappearing for good. The running time is 15 minutes, so extra batteries are vital to avoid waiting 90 minutes between charges.

3. Aquacraft Mini Alligator Tours RC Airboat | Top Pick
View on Amazon
Editor’s Rating: 4.5/5
My Top Pick is not your typical RC water vessel. Meet the Aquacraft Mini Alligator Tours RC Airboat. It’s the biggest of the small boats in this guide and one that has a unique appeal.
- Best feature 1: Flat-bottom ABS hull
- Best feature 2: Durable injection-molded cage
- Plus points: Realistic design, powerful motor, easy to steer, large air rudders, magnetic hatch
- Minus points: Average playing time, no warning alarm
The best thing about an airboat is its ability to glide across shallow water. That means you can take it to places other RC boats can’t go. A stable flat-bottom ABS hull offers a thrilling experience and a unique type of adventure. The Mini Alligator comes with an injection-molded cage to protect the user. The cage also shields the spinning prop and powerful 380-motor from damage.
Airboats are more agile and easier to steer than speedboats and other vessels in calm weather. And the large twin air rudders mean there are no concerns about underwater obstacles. Another positive is that the battery’s easy to access and quick to swap thanks to the magnetic hatch.
The Not So Good
The playing time is 15 minutes which is standard for this type of RC vessel so consider extra batteries. Charging times with the 12V DC charger can vary depending on the source. The biggest gripe with this otherwise impressive airboat is the absence of alarms. No low-battery or out-of-range signals mean users must be extra vigilant on larger bodies of water like rivers and lakes.

4. Unetox Mini High-Speed RC Racing Boat
View on Amazon
Editor’s Rating: 4.3/5
The Unetox Mini is a small-scale RC racing boat primarily for kids. It makes an ideal toy for younger children who are not ready for too much oomph on the water.
- Best feature 1: Easy to operate, 4 channel controller
- Best feature 2: Self-righting feature
- Plus points: Small size, solid ABS material, full drive functions, decent range
- Minus points: No batteries included, no alarms, short playing time, slow
This ABS plastic model really is a mini at just 5.12” (13 cm) long. Its bright orange color catches the attention of young skippers and makes it easy to see on the water. The Unetox Mini is ideal for close range use like pools and small ponds. The remote provides full controls, i.e., forward, backward, left and right turns. There’s even a self-righting feature to flip the tiny craft upright if it capsizes.
The control range is 98 ft. (30 M) which gives young captains plenty of room to play. The makers suggest it’s suitable for those 8 years and older. I think it’s a better choice for younger children under adult supervision. Older kids will soon get bored with the small size and slow speeds (see below).
The Not So Good
The Unetox Mini is a budget-priced toy with limited functions. There aren’t any battery or range alarms which is a shame. That makes it more suitable for toddlers in the pool rather than teens by the lake. The playing time is also short at just 7–8 minutes max.

5. Tipmant Mini Military RC Aircraft Carrier
View on Amazon
Editor’s Rating: 4.2/5
This Tipmant boat is for those who want to move away from the popular speedboats. It’s a military RC aircraft carrier at the budget end that appeals mostly to younger children.
- Best feature 1: Simple remote control functions
- Best feature 2: Water detection safety feature
- Plus points: Ideal for pools and ponds, built-in battery, fast charging time
- Minus points: Limited appeal, short playing time, no speed setting
Tipmant’s Mini Military Aircraft Carrier is an affordable toy-grade RC ship for first-timers. It has some nice details to capture the imagination of youngsters. The remote is super easy to use with simple forward, backward, left, and right controls. Worth noting is that some reviewers report the antenna is missing from the remote—it’s not. This small RC ship sails just fine without one.
The safety features are the same as any other radio-controlled boat. That is, no moving parts work until the model detects water. Likewise, the craft automatically stops when it leaves the water. It’s the perfect vessel to use in pools and other small areas. Users can recharge the built-in boat battery via the controller which only takes a few minutes.
The Not So Good
The Mini Military RC Aircraft Carrier is a budget-end toy with limited functions. It’s unlikely to appeal to kids over 8 because of the above. It’s an ideal model for pools but not so suitable for bathtubs as it’s too zippy and there’s no speed setting. Playing time on a single charge is around 8 minutes.

This is the POCO DIVO 2.4Ghz Vector28 Ready-to-Run (RTR) Pool Racer. It’s a high-speed mini racing boat with an ultra-sleek design and plenty of wave-making oomph.
- Best feature 1: Ready-to-Run (RTR) speedboat
- Best feature 2: Rubber sealed hull cover
- Plus points: Affordable, full function control, fast, decent range, low battery alarm
- Minus points: No out of range alarm, long charging time
The Vector28 Mini Pool speedboat can sit on the palm of a hand, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for on features. A rubber-sealed hull keeps the water out of this surf-slicing racer as it zips across the waves. Its deep-V design drives as well on lakes and ponds as it does in pools despite the name. A powerful 180A brushed motor propels this affordable toy to a top speed of 20+ mph (32 km/h).
Other attractions are the ease-of-use, full controls, and a decent 300 ft. (91 M) control range. The boat also has a low battery alarm that tells users when it’s time to return to port.
The Not So Good
The Vector28 Mini has an impressive control range for a toy RC boat yet no out-of-range alarm. It also has a decent run time for a model in its class that’s let down by the long 3 hour charging.

7. Waterproof Remote Control 4WD Mini Car Boat
View on Amazon
Editor’s Rating: 4.5/5
Last on this list is an RC boat—well sort of—with a twist. Meet the waterproof, 4WD mini car boat. It’s a double-sided amphibious model that entertains kids as few toys can.
- Best feature 1: Drives on land and water
- Best feature 2: 360° spins & flips
- Plus points: Fast and powerful, multi-terrain, long range, anti-vibration, non-toxic materials
- Minus points: Fiddly to charge, long charging time
The fantastic thing about the Double-Sided 4WD RC Car Boat is its off-road, on-water capabilities. Imagine the fun kids have racing these amphibious robots when they have one each. The boats on this page all have full function controls—for boats. But what they can’t do is perform 360° flips and spins like this fun-loving model. Nor can they turn upside down and keep going.
Experience off-road, multi-terrain capability that’s off the charts. You can take this CarBoat across the grass, sand, on marshy ground, and over water. It’s anti-vibration and crash/abrasion-resistant structure lets users bash with confidence wherever they are. And the non-toxic materials reassure parents that the product is as safe as it is fun.
The Not So Good
The mini car-boat looks fantastic and provides lots of entertainment though it’s not perfect. Running time is average at 15 minutes, but the charging lets it down. You must undo a screw to access the battery each time, which is a design flaw and a hassle. Charging time takes 2+ hours.

Many people choose to buy RC boats to be able to race around in the pool. This is a great way to get some amazing use out of RC boats, but it’s important to note that some RC boats may be better for pools than others.
There are many features to consider when searching for a for a remote control pool toy. To start, you will want to make sure that you choose a durable model that it has a waterproof system and will protect the battery and motor from becoming damaged. It’s important that the battery stays dry so you can get a lot of use of it before needing to replace it.
It’s also important to bring safety into account when looking for toy boats for the pool. Since pools are often smaller than lakes and other bodies of water, it’s important that the RC boat doesn’t go too fast and is easy to control. Especially since there may be other people in the water while the boat is being used. Boats that go less than 15 mph are best as they are easier to control and can keep the driver and anyone else in the water safe.

Best RC Boats For Beginners
There are quite a few RC boats on the market, so finding one for a beginner or child can be overwhelming. We get it, so that’s why we wanted to include some of our top RC boat picks for beginners in this article. Hopefully, we can help narrow down your choices a bit and make your decision a bit easier. These boats are great for any new racer and kids too.
What To Look For When Buying An RC Boat
If you’re a beginner when it comes to buying RC boats, we understand that you may be a little confused on which boat to buy either for you or your child. We want to give you a small guide of what to look for when buying your first RC boat and how you can get the most out of your experience as a beginner.
Price
Costs are something we always encourage our readers to take into account when buying a new hobby toy. For RC boats, we understand that you may be itching to get the best of the best. But buying the newest and best boat can result in a steep price tag. We don’t want you to break the bank buying a boat for the first time, so we recommend not spending more than $200 on your first boat. RC boats for beginners usually cost less than this and you’ll probably have the best luck looking for an electric RC boat. They are easy to maintain and are more affordable than a gas RC boat.
Speed
Another important factor of buying an RC boat that you should take into account is speed. Beginner RC boats often travel at speeds of 5 to 30mph. While this may seem slow to you, we recommend purchasing a boat in this range as faster RC boats can be harder to control. For a beginner or child to be able to easily maneuver their RC boat a slower speed is best, and trust us, they are still full of fun. You can always upgrade your boat to be faster once you become more comfortable and master the controls.
Handling
This is perhaps one of the main components to look at when buying an RC boat. For beginners, you will want a boat that is easy to handle and won’t leave you feeling stressed or discouraged. Luckily, we have found many RC boats for beginners that are easy to maneuver and still have some great speed.
Assembly
As a beginner, it can be difficult to open your new RC boat and find there is a complicated and lengthy assembly process. That’s why we recommend looking for a boat that is ready to run. There are a lot of RC boats for beginners that come pre-assembled where all you have to do is insert the batteries. You don’t have to worry about the hassle of installing a propeller or motor. For beginners and kids, this can make driving RC boats much easier and get you on the water much faster.
