First time use
When you first turn on your new device, you might see a setup wizard to help get you started. Take a look at the steps below to walk through the setup process.
- Make sure the SIM card is inserted.
- Tap Start.
- If necessary, select a Wi-Fi network.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Yes to the 'Get Google screen to set up your Google account. Tap No to create a new Google account.
- Enter Google Email and Password.
- Tap the arrow in the lower right to advance to the next screen.
- Tap OK to agree to Google Terms of Service.
- Select or clear the following Google settings:
- BACKUP AND RESTORE
- LOCATION
- COMMUNICATION
- Tap the arrow in the lower right to advance to the next screen.
- If desired, sign into your HTC account.
- Select one of the following radio button:
- Get content from your old phone
- Skip
- Tap NEXT.
- Update the Auto sync selections as desired.
- Tap NEXT.
- The 'Personalize and secure screen' appears.
- Enter desired name into PHONE NAME field.
- If desired tap Screen lock to secure your phone. Follow any additional prompts.
- Tap NEXT.
- If desired, select the Allow Diagnostics check box.
- Tap MORE to learn more about diagnostics.
- Tap FINISH to complete the initial setup.
Transferring data
- Transfer your data to the new phone by tapping Settings > Accounts > Add Account > Google.
- Sign in to your Google account where your data is backed up.
- You will be asked if you would like to download your synced information, tap Yes.
- Depending on the amount of data backed up it may take a while to download. You must wait for the download to be complete.
