Obnoxious ads by txdot etc

I love the game but found that there is one txdot ad about trash which seems almost impossible to turn off without removing the app and starting over. I quit a good competitor app which had similar issues. I will reload the app one more time but if this ad starts again I will not be back. I am sure I am not the only one who has had this experience with this app. I hope you can fix this because it is annoying as hell.

I reloaded the app again and the first ad to show up was the txdot annoying ad which you can’t escape from without deleting. I love your game but this is way too annoying. You shoulfld get rid if this type if ad if you want people to continue playing. You better hope txdot is paying you well for this ad because it is losing customers I believe. You lost one because of this annoying ad.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to see that this is happening for you. While ads are necessary in our free games, they shouldn't cause any problems with the game. We have let our developers know about this, and please feel free to reach out to us by going to Help > Report a Problem if you have any trouble at all. We're always glad to assist.

Need help.

I have tried to add feedback and get help in the app. It says I need a mail account. I don’t know how to sign up for one since I use gmail on my phone, not Apple mail. I wish there was an account tab where I could put in my email for this purpose. We use the app to play Hearts with my partner’s senior citizen parents. It’s the best app we have found but the problem is they can’t always figure out how to escape the ads between rounds and eventually one of them often times out. Alternatively if someone loses hold of their phone and accidentally hits the “boot” button on a player, they are immediately booted. It would be helpful if there was an “Are you sure you want to boot this person from the game....” pop-up, OR (even better) if you could re-invite or re-add the person back into the game instead of having a random person (or Watson) added to the crew.

I’d love help with these issues instead of airing my frustration here. I wish I could write the company myself. Sorry if this is a negative review. We love the app when it works but tonight, for example, it was a problem and we had to restart 3 times and the third time we had to stop because my partners mom’s eyes are so bad she was getting tired. Thanks for trying to help.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. It's great to see that you've been generally enjoying the game, and we are sorry for the frustration the ads are causing. While ads are necessary in our free apps, there should be a way to close it out quickly and return to the game. We've shared your insight with our developers, and please feel free to reach out to us by email at [email protected] You should also be able to contact us through the Help page by choosing the Gmail option to send in the message. We're glad to assist in any way we can.

Make this electronic game more like an actual hearts card game:

In an actual Hearts game with cards, after a trick is played and the four cards are laid face up in the center of the table, the player who takes the trick takes those four cards and turns them FACE DOWN in a pile in front of him or her. Then, while the game progresses, each player is only able to see the cards he or she has taken. In this manner, to successfully “shoot the moon,” a player has to remember if any of the other players have taken a heart card. In this electronic game, one can not only clearly see how many hearts each player has taken, but one can also look at the actual cumulative score as the game progresses. This is not possible in an actual hearts game with real cards. Suggestions:
1. Only display the hearts count of the person playing the game.
2. Only display the score count of the last hand tally, then update the score AFTER each hand. Eliminate the running score count.

Thank you for providing us this valuable feedback. Your comments and suggestions help us continue to improve as we grow, and we really appreciate you sharing this with us. Thank you for playing!

Enjoyable and Surprisingly Fair

I've read all those reviews about how the cards passed are not fair but that has not been my experience. I may lose a hand but I most often win the whole set. I've played gin rummy my whole life and, sure, you get passed high cards but that's what happens in real life gameplay. The other guy is trying to get rid of their high cards, too. This is the fairest card game bot I've played against which makes it very enjoyable. There are too many ads but unfortunately every app I play now has too many ads. There is a trick for bypassing them if you have an iPhone XR or newer but if I post it they will delete this review. Play with it and you'll find it. If you do figure it out it works on every game.

Program Has Glitches or it Cheats

Generally, this is quite a fun App. You do go through periods where it seems unfair and almost every round, you’re either dealt the Queen of Spades or another player gives you the Ace and King (or the other way around). But that’s kind of balanced out by other periods when you’re not dealt or given any of those 3 cards.

My main complaint is that there seems to be a couple of glitches that have the appearance of cheating (especially when you come off worse). I’ve seen this a few times now, while playing the game.

1 - sometimes I have played the high “trump” card (e.g. a Jack of Diamonds, according to the suite chosen by the first player) and another player (say, “Michael”) has put down the Queen of Spades. Then a couple of hands later, that same player (“Michael”) has put down a card of the same suit (Diamonds). So, hold on - why did “Michael” put down the Queen of Spades when he still had a Diamond card ? Just to stick me with 13 points ?

2 - sometimes the winner of the hand isn’t the player who put down the highest trump card. For example, I’ve seen “Jerry” win a hand with the 10 of Clubs, when “Barbara” put down the Queen of Clubs. Why ? Is is because one or other of the A.I. players has already been chosen to be the clear winner of the game ?

Poorly designed

I have also noticed that, when I pass 3 cards, I will either get those same three card suits back or I will get high spades. And that really is 9 out of 10 times! I also just noticed today - after weeks of playing - that the game scores are not adding properly! If you hit the ‘scores’ button, the game scores will appear. You can hit the back arrow back to game 1 and, moving forward, you can see that the prior scores plus the current game scores don’t always add up! I was chasing a competitor knowing exactly how many points ahead he was. And - oops! - his score was totaled incorrectly! And I see it’s not an occasional mistake. It’s very often. I’m done with this game!

Play Hearts Card Game Online

Like any game that stood the test of time, Hearts has it’s own slang and terms, seasoned players are familiar with. For your convenience, we have compiled a list of the most common terminologies. We hope that this information will help you to train and play Hearts.

💔 Breaking hearts

This term refers to discarding the first heart in the game, thus allowing Hearts to be led after that.

👑 Smoking out the queen

This particular situation is when a player begins with lower Spades trying to lure out the player holding the Queen of Spades.

🌑 Shooting the moon

Winning every penalty card, scoring 0 points and adding 26 to every opponent.
The term Slam the moon is also used for this.

Stopper

Blocking someone to Shoot the Moon. A high card taking the trick and preventing a given player to obtain all necessary cards for shooting the moon.

Slough

When it is not possible to follow the suit, and the player throws any other card. The players use undesirable cards to slough.

♦️ Painting the trick

Discarding a penalty card on a trick doesn’t start with a heart or a Queen of Spades.

247 Hearts Difficulties

Fall in love with Hearts at 247Hearts.com! Hearts is structured to be played with four players, it is not difficult to learn but there is strategic play abound. Like other fun trick-taking card games such as Spades and Bridge the rules of the game are not complicated. However, even though the rules are simple there is a righteous range of scientific sport in this "evasion type" card game.

Start playing Hearts with the card player with the 2 of clubs starting off the first trick. After they have done so the other Heart players will play a card from their hands. Hearts Card Game is played in a clockwise order. Subsequent players are to play a card that is the same suit as the lead card. This is known as following suit. If they do not have a card that is the same suit as the lead card then Heart players can play any card that they have. Among the cards they may choose to discard or "slough" is a penalty Heart or the Queen of Spades. The points accumulated by any penalties and the trick are given to the player of the highest card in the suit that was originally put into play. You do not want the points in hearts. An ideal hand would have 0 points. The player who takes the trick will become the leader of the next trick. A leading trick player is not able to start with a heart unless they only have hearts in their hand or until the hearts have been "broken". This means a player must play a heart while another suit is being played. Each round of Hearts will end when players have completed their hands. When a player reaches 100 points, the game will end. Whichever player has the LEAST amount of points wins!

The card game, Hearts, has evolved over the years. It originated in Spain in the 1700's, at that time Heart was called Reversis. Since then this scientific card game has come a long way. In modern day Hearts, unlike Reversis, each Heart is worth one point. Also, the Queen of Spades or "Calamity Jane" is worth 13 points. All in all there are 26 penalty points in each deal in the card game Hearts.

Players can enjoy Hearts on 247 Hearts with other players because of Artificial Intelligence. Each level of Hearts, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert or made more challenging or less so by advances in AI. If you are a beginner, try your hand against the card players in our Easy Hearts game. As you advance test your skills on Hearts "artificial aficionados" in Medium Hearts, Hard Hearts, and Expert Hearts. If you are not new to Hearts games start wherever you please! There are hundreds of games available at 247Hearts.com to keep you coming back for more and more Hearts entertainment!
