Pictures being displayed sideways or upside down
This issue usually occurs when photos are taken with the camera sideways. It's especially common when using a smartphone. Depending on the position of the camera, the orientation of the photo will vary. If you have a computer running windows 8 or later, the computer will adjust the orientation of the photo to be displayed correctly. However, Windows does not correct the actual photo.
To determine the actual orientation of the photo, you will need to download a photo viewing/editing software.
An alternative option for Windows computers is to right click the photo and open it with Windows Photo Viewer. Then rotate the picture to the desired orientation and save the file. Then, load the resaved photo to the frame and it should be displayed in the orientation it was saved in.
- You can use iPhoto/Photo Library. Load all the images and export with the following settings
- Kind: JPEG
- Quality: Medium
- Size: Large
When viewing photos with these software, you can see what photos are in the correct orientation and which are not. You can then rotate the photos to the correct orientation.
After loading the corrected photos to the frame, they will be displayed in the correct orientation on the frame.

Rotating Photo Frames - Go Through The Memories Everyday
Modernization and technological advancement made an impact on every aspect of our life. Many things have changed, and many are changing right now. Emotions and memories have now gathered many folds.
There was a time when photo frames (both simple and rotating photo frames) were part of every household. They were the way to remember the moments captured in photographs. It’s not that people don’t keep their photographs safe as there is less use of photo frames.
Mobile phones and laptops have taken place to keep all the photographs safe.
But the point here is that the joy of watching photographers surrounded in frames can’t be enjoyed in the digital devices and you can’t even go down to the memory lane while entering and exiting the place where photo frames are placed.
And, that’s why we miss photo frames. If we talk precisely about walking down the memory lanes through photographs, rotating photo frames were, are, and will always be the best way.
Here is why we love them...
Rotating Photo Frames as a Dose of Happiness
It’s good to keep those pictures in frames which captures some happy moments within. The pictures could be from a family outing, functions, and any candid click from the family fun. Having family pictures is good because it’s where real happiness comes from. As the eyes pass through them at random intervals, it will inject a dose of happiness, which, as said before, can’t be obtained through digital devices.
Rotating Photo Frames as Decorative Items
Because of the lovely design, rotating photo frames fit perfectly as a decorative item. They can be placed on the television table in the hall or on the side table in the bedroom. There are a variety of designs available in the local market, online gifting portals and e-commerce websites. For the perfect look, colour combinations of the home wall should be kept in mind while purchasing the rotating photo frame.
Rotating Photo Frames as a Heartwarming Gift
Gifting our nearest and dearest ones a rotating photo frame is a great idea. Firstly they work as both decorative item and happiness sprinkler as talked above. And, secondly, they outlay a message to the recipient that the giver is concerned about his/her happiness. If given with some cool pictures of the recipient with his/her family, rotating photo frame makes the best personalised gift.
And now some different types....

Build an Automatically Rotating Picture Frame That Matches Your Photo's Orientation
Digital photo frames are great, but when you’re using one to display a slideshow, it tends to look terrible when it displays photos in the opposite orientation of how you have it set up. Over on Hackaday, Tim made a frame that automatically rotates to show the best picture.
This project is overkill in a lot of ways, but that doesn’t mean it’s not pretty cool. It uses a Raspberry Pi to run the slideshow, a discarded old LCD TV for the display, and an Arduino to handle the movement. Once it’s all together, the frame automatically rotates to match the photo’s orientation. Sure, you could just load up your digital frame with landscape oriented photos, but this is a pretty neat little solution that lets you display photos of all types.

Go sleep. Oh my God. Why can't I sit now. Or without me, the sofa folds down there and pinches you. I flared up, waving my hand towards the door.
